The Rhode Island Council for Economic Education (RICEE) is excited to announce the official competition window for our annual statewide challenges: the 2026 RI Finance Challenge and the 2026 RI Econ Challenge!

These highly anticipated competitions give high school students across Rhode Island an opportunity to apply their knowledge of personal finance and economics in a competitive, real-world setting. Students compete for the prestigious state title and the opportunity to advance to the national competitions.

Competition Dates

Mark your calendars! The official competition window for both the 2026 RI Finance Challenge and the 2026 RI Econ Challenge will run from:

January 5, 2026 – March 27, 2026

This period allows teams to register, prepare, and take the online challenge exams in the subject areas of:

• RI Finance Challenge: Personal Finance and Financial Literacy.
• RI Econ Challenge: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Economic Concepts.

We encourage teachers and students to begin preparing now. The challenges are an excellent way to reinforce classroom learning, test critical thinking, and earn state recognition for excellence in economic and financial education.
